Last week we discussed 7 fundamental ways to increase your Twitter Followers. I told you that I’d have some more quality tips for you this week.

If you are a personal user, there is less need to gain a huge following, ego set aside (or the challenge to reach a high number). Business users may or may want to increase the number of followers on Twitter.

On the other hand, both personal and business users should want to increase the quality of followers and perhaps reach a more targeted audience, thus opening the door for a stronger connection and a more enjoyable, effective interaction.

Here’s 7  more solid ways (in 140 characters or less) to build your Twitter Followers:

  1. Get Listed in DirectoriesTwellow is the “big daddy” but there are many others. This gives you exposure with a specific expertise.
  2. Find Targeted users in Directories – don’t just stand still with your listing. Look at profiles with similar interests and follow them.
  3. Answer questions – discover who needs advice and assistance by using the search words “how or need help” and pitch in.
  4. Socialize – remember that Twitter is not just about you, ask questions, interact and show an interest in your followers.
  5. Vary the times you tweet – if you change the times  you tweet or schedule tweets for varied times you will reach different audiences.
  6. Maintain your account with regular postings – let your audience know what to expect, i.e. monday to friday or 10-20 posts daily.
  7. Add your twitter profile to everything – ask people to follow you from your blog, email signature and other media or else they won’t know.

Along with the initial 7 tips for gaining followers, these tips will keep you actively engaged and will steadily increase the quality of your audience. The benefit to you is less management on your account sifting through the trash to find the gems.

If you aren’t already, don’t forget to follow me on Twitter and ask me any direct question you would like. I’ll do my best to answer in a reasonable time frame.
