  1. Branding - build a web presence or brand by aligning your profile to your blog and business. Make sure you maintain the same messaging as your company and tweet helpful information.
  2. Marketing Tool – you can share and test new ideas or look for new contacts but careful – don’t overdo. You can use Twitter for various aspects of your business, for instance a campaign that people can follow before, during and after.
  3. Research and Info gathering – Get questions answered, see what people are interested in, discover trends and find industry news. Think you can do this with Google or the newspaper. With Twitter you can do it in real time.
  4. Hiring – Announce that you have skills and recruiters are certain to contact you. There are many profiles that are “job profile” offering links and sources. So as a business, announcing that you have work is an instant way to not only recruit but screen your potential audience first. If you want to do this in stealth mode, consider using the search tools to find prospects and contact them directly. A review of Twtjobs and Twitter Jobcast are to examples of the tools available.
  5. Productivity - Twitter does it all. There are tools help to use it as a calendar; jot down reminders or notes; make a to do list; share info or documentation; create, schedule and manage meetings; announce or manage events; communicate instead of using email, mail or phone. Quick and simple results, much more effective than traditional medium.
  6. Customer Service & Relationships – If you want to keep your customers updated, what better way than to use Twitter. You can respond immediately to their concerns or update them with relevant information to keep them in the loop. If you need feedback, have events to announce or want to survey them for feedback on quality or new ideas, Twitter is a way to do this instantly.
  7. Buying & Finding Products & suppliers – Think the Yellow Pages, Trade Magazines or Google was the way to go when looking for something. Think again. Look right at your Twitter followers, someone you have been building a relationship with and you can always find what you want – right in front of you.
